Answer 10 questions to benchmark your security posture. Takes about 3 minutes.
This free interactive assessment benchmarks your cybersecurity maturity across ten domains and gives you a personalised maturity score, a category-by-category breakdown, and actionable recommendations for your Irish SME.
What the Assessment Covers
The 10 questions span the core domains of a practical security programme:
- Access Controls — whether multi-factor authentication (MFA) is enabled on all business accounts
- Access Controls — how user access to systems and data is managed, from flat access through to role-based access control with regular reviews
- Data Protection — how business data backups are managed, from no regular backups through to automated, offsite, regularly tested backups
- Data Protection — whether sensitive data is encrypted at rest and in transit
- Email Security — what email security controls are in place, from provider defaults through to SPF, DKIM, and DMARC with enforcement
- Security Awareness — whether employees receive cybersecurity awareness training, up to regular training with phishing simulations
- Incident Response — whether an incident response plan exists, is documented, and is tested annually with clear roles
- Vulnerability Management — how software updates and patches are managed, up to automated patching with vulnerability scanning
- Governance — whether documented security policies exist, up to a comprehensive policy suite aligned to a framework such as ISO 27001 or CyFUN
- Governance — how third-party and supplier security risks are managed
How Scoring Works
Each question offers four answer options scored from 0 to 3, ranging from no control in place to a mature, tested control. The maximum score is 30. Your total is converted to a percentage and mapped to one of four maturity levels.
The Four Maturity Levels
Initial (score 0-7)
Your security posture has significant gaps. Immediate action is needed to protect your business from common threats.
Developing (score 8-14)
You have some security controls in place, but gaps remain. A structured approach will help you build on what you have.
Established (score 15-22)
Good foundation in place. Focus on formalising processes, testing controls, and addressing remaining gaps.
Advanced (score 23-30)
Strong security posture. Continue to refine, test, and adapt your controls to evolving threats.
What Your Results Include
- Your overall maturity level and percentage score
- A category breakdown showing how you scored in each domain
- Recommended next steps highlighting up to five areas that need improvement
- A downloadable PDF report of your assessment
- The option to retake the assessment at any time
